This performance at the Ravello Festival was Maida Hundeling’s first collaboration with the Teatro Massimo Orchestra, conducted by Gabriele Ferro. The orchestra was also making its debut at the Festival on the stage of the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo.
The program featured the Lyrische Symphonie op.18 by Zemlinsky, with Ms. Hundeling and baritone Thomas Gazheli as the soloists, in addition to the Symphony from the opera Oceàna by Antonio Smareglia and the ending of Richard Strauss’ Salome.
