Turandot is the first western opera premiering at Beijing’s National Center for the Performing Arts since its inauguration. Maida Hundeling has the honour to perform the title role in Puccini’s epic on June 21 and 23, with Amadi Lagha as Calaf and Ekaterina Bakanova as Liù.

HAO Weiya, the young Chinese composer, entrusted by the NCPA, has become the third composer in the world, and the first Chinese artist to complete Puccini’s Turandot, with an original 18-minute finale.

On July 6, Ms. Hundeling returns to Brno and the role of Tosca once again, this time to be performed at the Špilberk Castle opposite Luciano Mastro as Cavaradossi and Jiří Sulženko as Scarpia.

Lastly, on July 28, she sings a concert with baritone Thomas Gazheli at the Ravello Festival, with Gabriele Ferro leading the Orchestra del Teatro Massimo di Palermo. The program includes music by Zemlinsky, Smareglia and Strauss.
